Bob Dylan\, âgé de seulement 19 ans\, quitte le Minnesota pour s’installer à New York\, armé de sa guitare et d’un talent exceptionnel. Au fil de son ascension\, il tisse des liens personnels au sein de la scène folk\, s’imposant progressivement comme le chroniqueur informel des troubles sociaux qui secouent les États-Unis. Sa musique et ses paroles résonnent comme l’écho d’une jeunesse en perte de repères\, en proie à un mal-être existentiel et en rupture avec une société conformiste. Portée par des artistes tels que Bob Dylan\, Joan Baez\, Patti Smith\, Neil Young\, Janis Joplin\, Jimi Hendrix et Leonard Cohen…  la musique devient le miroir des luttes sociales\, du combat pour les droits civiques et du rejet de la guerre du Vietnam.
